| Andre Henderson of Strong Vincent caught 6 passes
for 169 yards including a 41-yard touchdown pitch from Rob Mattis
of McDowell. Mattis completed 6 of 11 passes for 126 yards. Mattis
and Jayson White of McDowell each scored on 1-yard runs for the
City. The Mattis score was set up by a 39-yard interception return
by T.J. McGraw of McDowell. Pat Evans of Cathedral Prep kicked
3 extra points and a 39-yard field goal for the winners. The
field goal was set up when Christian Fleming blocked a punt and
former Strong Vincent teammate Emanuel Beason recovered at the
County 21. Chad Baccus of Fairview scored both County touchdowns
on runs of 4 and 2 yards. The City owns a 37-15-2 lead under

The City ran wild in the first game played on the new Veterans Stadium artificial turf. The 44 points and the 37-point difference were both Save-An-Eye records. The City scored 34 unanswered points in the second half. A 92-yard kickoff return by Javon Rowan of Cathedral Prep to open the second half ignited the romp. Rowan also intercepted 3 passes. Daniel Graham of East scored 2 touchdowns on runs of 60 and 4 yards. John Csir of Prep ran 1 yard, Jon Wentz of Prep ran 8 yards and Gary Williams of Strong Vincent went 92 yards with an interception return for other City touchdowns. Justin Gomes of McDowell kicked a 29-yard field goal and 5 extra points. The County’s only score came on a 22-yard pass from Dan Barringer of Iroquois to Shawn Giewont of Seneca. Stephen Blose of Harbor Creek kicked the PAT. Anthony Weaver of McDowell rushed 13 times for 103 yards. The City owns a 38-15-2 lead under the current format. |
