Game
Summary |
1940:
East 12, West 7
|
| The Stadium turf was covered with ice for
this game. The ice, several inches thick in some spots, made
running treacherous. Many players switched from cleats to sneakers
at halftime in an attempt to gain better footing. The conditions
limited the crowd to 1,200 fans. Walter Lundstrom of East scored
on a 53-yard interception return for the winning touchdown. Bob
Gay of Millcreek tossed an 11-yard TD pass to John Lally of Prep.
Ray (Jambers) Wisniewski of Tech scored on a 5-yard run. |
