Phil Haendler of Academy for the extra point. The scoring play was set up by
a fumble recovery by Tom Franzkowski of Academy. Joe Robasky of Academy intercepted
a pass and ran 47 yards for the second touchdown. East High running backs Joe
Shannon and Ray Pomorski starred in a losing cause. |

27 and 21 yards for scores. Catching the TD passes were Bud Sedler of Girard
and Ray Winslow of Millcreek. Don Beviliacqua of Strong Vincent kicked the conversion.
The West threatened a final time on the last play of the game. Jim McVay and
John Wiley, both Academy athletes, teamed on a 51-yard pass that ended with Wiley
tackled on the East 17-yard line as the game ended. |
