Game
Summary |
1948:
East 13, West 0
|
| A crowd of 9,000 on hand for the opening
kickoff dwindled to less than 1,000 after halftime due to a driving
rainstorm. The horrible conditions, which turned the Stadium
turf into a slippery mess, produced 11 fumbles. Julius “Whitey” Borkowski
of Academy returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown. Tony Starocci
of Tech had a 38-yard TD run. Dave Young of Union City kicked
the game’s only extra point. The West had just 1 first
down. |
