Game Summary
1950: West 19, East 0
This game was postponed twice, once due to a snowstorm, then because of basketball games and the East prom. A heavy rain limited the crowd to1,500 fans after 5,000 advance tickets were sold. Stan Alboro of Kanty Prep scored on a 10-yard run, Gene Puingley of Edinboro scored from 1 yard out and Mike Torrelli of Cathedral Prep scored a 3-yard TD and added the PAT run. Roa Jones of Cambridge Springs was another offensive star for the winners on the slick field. Buddy Powell and Tommy Gibbons of Academy were East standouts. Larry Raymond of Strong Vincent intercepted a pass to end the East’s deepest threat, to the West 27-yard line in the fourth quarter.
