Game Summary
1951: West 25, East 0
The East County faced the West County in the first and third quarters. The East and West City teams battled in the second and fourth quarters. Norm Zmyslinski of Prep scored of a 22-yard punt return and on a 21-yard run. Len Tomczak of Prep had a 32-yard run for a TD. Vic Sokolowski of Prep passed 14 yards to John VanCise of Girard for the third score. That TD was set up by a fumble recovery by Jack Rust of Cambridge Springs. Strong Vincent players Paul Wilson, Bob Wall and Gus Anderson starred. Dick Quadri, Prep tackle, opened huge holes to spark the rushing game. Casear Montevecchio of Prep kicked the game’s only extra point. West County defensive linemen Jim Snyder of Edinboro, Paul VanHonk of Millcreek and Bob Davenport of Conneaut Valley were other standouts. Due to a scheduling change, playing the game before the season rather than after, several players from the 1951 game also played in the 1952 contest.

Game Summary
1952: City 19, County 6
A capacity crowd watched the first City-County game in the series. The City, featuring Caesar Montevecchio of Prep, passed for 226 yards. A fake punt accounted for the first touchdown. Jimmy Johnson of East threw to Montevecchio, who caught the ball on the County 49, got several key blocks and went the distance for the score. Montevecchio then passed 40 yards to Len Tomczak of Prep for a TD with 10 seconds left in the first half. Tomczak made a great catch on the 5-yard line and went into the end zone untouched. Montevecchio kicked the only extra point. Don Wolf of Prep had a 7-yard run for the final City score. Bruce Pieper of Union City intercepted a pass to set up the County score. Jim Villa of North East had a 26-yard run to spark the march, going the final 5 yards for the touchdown. Jim Peplinski of Prep recovered a fumble to stop the only other County threat.
