Game Summary
1960: City 13, County 6
Cathedral Prep grads Dave Tullio and Pat Tomczak teamed for touchdown passes of 5 and 7 yards for the two City scores. With 10,147 on hand, Tullio set up the first City touchdown with a 23-yard run. After the Tullio-to-Tomczak TD connection, Joe Ott of Prep kicked the PAT. Joe Allessie of Wesleyville hit Ron Shilling of Girard for a 7-yard touchdown pass for the County. Elmer Woodard of Academy ran 20 yards on the City’s other scoring drive. Tullio threw 17 yards to Doug Palmer of Tech, then hit Tomczak for 7 yards and the TD. The County drove to the City 23-yard line midway in the fourth quarter before Don Kwiatkowski of East recovered a fumble. A Shilling interception and a fumble recovery by Gerry Fuller of General McLane gave the County two more chances, but both drives stalled.
