Game Summary
1964: City 6, County 6

Mina George of East threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Pat Lupo of Prep with 1 second left to produce the tie. The late TD was set up by a fumble recovery by Bob Barnett of East on the County 42. An 18-yard George pass to Barry Grossman of Strong Vincent aided the drive. Barnett picked up a first down on fourth-and-1 at the 6-yard line. Then after each side was penalized, George hit Lupo for the tying score. George’s PAT pass was batted down. Dan Chase of Fairview passed 14 yards to Larry Fitzgerald of Wesleyville for the County touchdown in the second quarter. The PAT kicked went wide. The City had the ball for 18 minutes during the second half, but failed to score until the final play. Quint Borol of Harborcreek, John Mikovich of Girard and Chip Rife of McDowell starred for the County. Retiring East coach Duke Detzel and new Warrior coach Bill Brabender led the City.
