Game Summary
1996: City 20, County 6

Artificial turf problems at Veterans Stadium forced the switch to General McLane for the second straight year. The longest play in Save-An-Eye history helped the City win. Mike Miodus of Strong Vincent connected with Tom Palmer of McDowell for a 97-yard scoring pass. The play came after a County drive was stopped at the 1-yard line. Owen George threw 34 yards to former Prep teammate Ramone Ellis and Ato Troop of Central ran 7 yards for the other City scores. Miodus hit 5 of 7 passes for 185 yards. Palmer had all 5 receptions. Aaron Holmes of Fairview kicked two field goals for the only County points. Brad Orlando of McDowell stopped another County threat with an interception at the 4-yard line.
