Game Summary |
1995 :
County 15, City 12
|
Due to renovations at Veterans
Stadium, this game was played at General McLane. It marked
the first time the game was held at an Erie County League
location. The contest spotlighted a pair of McLane players.
Luke Kuffer threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Jaimen Gallo
late in the fourth quarter to decide the outcome. Scott
Malesiewski of North East fired 10 yards to Brad Mitchell
of Corry for the other County touchdown. Jason Sokol of
Harborcreek kicked one PAT, Kuffer scoring a two-pointer
on a keeper. Roosevelt Benjamin of Central scored both
City touchdowns on runs of 4 and 86 yards. Benjamin gained
109 yards on 8 carries despite sitting out the second half
with a shoulder injury. |

Game
Summary |
1996:
City 20, County 6
|
Artificial turf problems at
Veterans Stadium forced the switch to General McLane for
the second straight year. The longest play in Save-An-Eye
history helped the City win. Mike Miodus of Strong Vincent
connected with Tom Palmer of McDowell for a 97-yard scoring
pass. The play came after a County drive was stopped at
the 1-yard line. Owen George threw 34 yards to former Prep
teammate Ramone Ellis and Ato Troop of Central ran 7 yards
for the other City scores. Miodus hit 5 of 7 passes for
185 yards. Palmer had all 5 receptions. Aaron Holmes of
Fairview kicked two field goals for the only County points.
Brad Orlando of McDowell stopped another County threat
with an interception at the 4-yard line. |
